On May 2nd, Sautrday, I was picked up in the morning by Giovanni Bargagli- my host for the next 3 days. On the ride from the hotel, I thought he was asking me about my flight into Italy. However, when we arrived at a small airport in Lucca, I realized he was asking me if I would like to see the area from a small 4 seater in plane.
Never in my life had I imagined I would ever get into such a small plane. I overcame the shock when we were in the air. I had the most amazing view of Pisa, Lucca, the Mountains of Carrera (marble), and the Marina di Pisa. We were in the air for over an hour. I even flew the plane!!!
It was the most beautiful tour. This tremendous gift was just a small example of the kindness and generosity shown to me by my Rotarian host family in Pisa over the next few days.
