Saying goodbye to Florence.

Florence has been a wonderful experience. We have met some of the most wonderful people. The The De Faveri Tron and Todescan Families have welcomed us like their own, and this experience would not be the same without them. I can't express my gratitude for their kindness.

On May 11 I was able to visit ARSIA (Tuscan agency for the development and innovation in Agricolture forestry):Territorial programming, protection and management of the Tuscan agricultural areas with Dr. Alessandra Gemmiti. ARSIA is similar to the Extension Services in the States only they are not directly tied to a University. I learned about rural landscape protection, vineyard management, and soil erosion control. It was a great day. Here are some pictures from the University of Florence research farm.

Yesterday we visited the beach with Giovanna, Andrea and Flora (three Rotarians from Florence). We went to Forte dei Marmi and the Cararra Marble Caves. It was a great day trip. Here are some pictures from the trip.

The view of the beach.

That white stuff isn't snow, it's marble!

Here are some pictures from last night. It was difficult to say goodbye to such wonderful people. Micel and Gorel De Faveri Tron and Giulio and Marinella Todescan. I would also like to say a special thank you to Giulio Todescan for organizing our events while in Florence. Thank you so much!

Hope all is well in the States,

Morgan
