We arrived in Modena yesterday and were greeted by Alberto Farinetti in a van with a large american flag inside. It made us feel very welcome. We then went to their country house and had a lovely picnic with our new host families and their children. It was a beautiful sunny day, the kids played soccer, we picked cherries and strawberries, and looked at the horses that Alberta trains. It was a very relaxing way to start our stay in Modena!!

Today we visited Modena with the help of Architect Emilio Montessori and Gian Carlo Gagliardelli. We saw churches in Modena and the Abbazia di Nonantola. Emilio was the architect that oversaw the restoration of the Abbazia, he worked on it for over twenty years. He was very passionate about the building and it made our visit very special

Tomorrow we are off to Bolgona by train and a presentation in Modena tomorrow night.
