Reggio Emilia

Buona Sera! While it was difficult to say goodbye to Tuscany, Reggio Emilia has been warm and welcoming. We arrived in Reggio Emilia yesterday afternoon around lunch. We were treated to homemade oven roasted pizza by Grandmother Gina. It was some of the best pizza ever, and for all those who know me... I love a good piece of piza. Then were toured the countryside and visited the Castle Rossena. It is the only castle of Mathidic times that still exists. I don't have the ability to post pictures, but I will soon. We then met our host familes, I am staying with a wonderful family. The Lundari's welcomed me into their home with open arms. Cesare, Rena, Francesca, and Frederica are great! We stayed up talking about the States, Italy and everything in between.

Today we were up early and toured the Town of Reggio Emilia. We started at the local hospital. Arcispedale S. Maria Nuova is a very nice hospital. We spent most of our time in the new library and classroom area. http://biblioteca.asmn.re.it/ Later in the day we visited the Credem Bank. The realy reason that we went to the bank was to visit the art. This bank had some of the most beautiful works of art from Italy and China. It was amazing. In the basement they had excovated Roman ruins and incporated them in to meeting rooms.

Today has been wonderful! Now I'm off to have dinner with my family.

Hope all is well in the States,

Morgan
