a week in highlights

The time is flying by! The entire GSE team cannot believe that we haven't updated much but along with our normal busy schedule, we had little internet access.

We will all be posting pictures soon.

Some of the highlights:
  • The wall of Lucca.
  • Hearing Puccini performed live in Lucca with Julia and Paolo (Puccini is from Lucca).
  • Rotarians (and wonderful new friends) Julia, Paolo, Paola, and Paolo. Lunch at Paolo's beautiful house in the country.
  • tour of the comic book museum in Lucca. The tour guide (arranged by a Rotarian in Montecarlo-Piana RC) is a current cartoonist for DC comics.
  • Italian Pizza from the wood oven of Grandma Gina in Reggio!
  • tour of a dairy farm producing Parmasian Reggiano Cheese in Reggio Emilia.
  • La Familia di Lasagni (What a beautiful modern house)! It was terrific to stay with a former GSE member!!
  • My vocational visit to the Medical Library at Arcispedale S.Maria Nuova in Reggio Emilia (talk about an amazing electronic conversion).
  • Tricolore Museo in Reggio
  • New friend (and saving grace) Elena! She is not so typical!
  • the Roman ruins in the basement of the Credem Bank in Reggio.
  • CASTLES!
  • A day trip to Ravenna with Sylvia (GSE ITALIAN TEAM)! GREAT to see Sylvia. She put together an amazing day for us in Ravenna.
  • My vocational visit to the Cancer Hospice and at home care program in Ferrara (ANT). I loved this.
  • Borrowing a bike and riding one beautiful afternoon in Ferrara.
  • VENICE.
  • Italo, Anna, Hilaria, e Dante.
  • SUNSHINE! FA BELLO!

We are off to Modena, Italy in the morning. Hopefully, our pictures will follow soon!

CIAO!
